Memo Raises Questions Over Legality Of Short-Term Home Rental Service

LOS ANGELES (CBSLA.com) – A private service that allows residents to rent out their apartments or homes for short-term stays may be breaking the law in Los Angeles, according to reports.

According to the memo, residents in who live in what officials with the Department of City Planning classify as strictly residential neighborhoods could be prohibited from renting out their apartments or homes for fewer than 30 days.
