For the third time in a decade, retired Dolphins star Mark Duper has been jailed after alleged acts of violence.
And this time, the victim was his teenage son.
Duper, 54, stands accused of punching, body-slamming and choking a minor, and rendering him unconscious. The Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office declined to identify the victim, but Duper, reached by The Miami Herald, acknowledged his son was involved.
“This is a family matter,” Duper said. “This is not an open book. I have to deal with this within my family.” Mark it is an open book when you choose to violate the rights of a CHILD. I’m going to make sure it stays open, until you have been charged and sentenced to the fullest extent of the law.
This is the paper trail that validates a victims claim of abuse. Soon after retiring,from the Miami Dolphins Duper was charged with conspiracy and intent to distribute cocaine. He was acquitted one year later. Previously, Duper had been suspended in 1988 for 30 days by the NFL for violating its drug policy.

Mark Duper has a history of drug abuse, and the disrespect for human life without a reasonable doubt. His actions validates his levels of abuse, anger and toxic past. Mental illness has to be treated. It does not GO AWAY with prayer. Community Service, Treatment, therapy, group should be a part of Mark Dupers debt to be paid to society. He should also be responsible for paying for the therapy of his son. The effects of physical abuse, verbal abuse has long-term effects on victims. It increases the chances of drug abuse, alcohol abuse and becoming a teen abuser.
